Angelo Ioanides - Smile Artisan

Originally from Christchurch, Angelo graduated from Otago University top of his class in 1992.

Since then, Angelo has worked in hospitals treating cancer and trauma patients; lectured at dental schools teaching oral surgery and oral medicine; worked in several private practices delivering routine dental care and practiced in a high-end cosmetic dental studio rejuvenating smiles.

Hoki Dental is the embodiment of his vision to create a world-class dental studio that treats people with dignity and has the ability to transform people's lives by giving them naturally beautiful smiles they can wear with confidence.

Outside of dentistry, Angelo is dad to three children, loves outdoor photography, playing cricket and badminton and embarrassingly, is a demoralised supporter of the Wallabies :(

Paula Ioanides - Clinic Co-Ordinator

Heart and soul of Hoki Dental, Paula is the behind-the-scenes maestro who keeps both Hoki Dental running smoothly and Angelo in check.

Endowed with abundant warm-heartedness and a cheeky sense of humour, Paula is the perfect foil to ensure your care at Hoki Dental is attentive, compassionate and often entertaining.

Vicky Tustin - Associate Dentist

Vicky Graduated from Kings College London in 2002. From there she went on to be a Maxillofacial Senior House Officer (SHO) and Restorative SHO in a London Hospital for a couple of years. After the hustle and bustle of the city she moved to North Wales where she could realise her dream of owning her own Dental Practice and pursue her passion of the outdoors.

While in practice, Vicky gained a diploma in aesthetic dentistry and diploma in restorative dentistry form the prestigious Eastman Dental Institute.

Outside of dentistry Vicky enjoys hiking , cycling and walking with her dog.

Didy Kampanthong - Dental Hygienist

We feel extremely privileged to have Didy (Dee-dee) as part of our Hoki Dental family. An Oral Health Therapy graduate from Otago University, Didy is a warm, caring and energetic soul who has a genuine love for dental hygiene. Being both a gentle clinician and strong believer in prevention through education and motivation, make Didy an invaluable member of our team.

In her personal time, Didy enjoys baking, being active, keeping fit and spending time with family and friends.

Fabricio Pacheco - Visiting Implant Surgeon

Brazilian born and trained, Fabricio brings to the Coast a wealth of specialist knowledge and experience. Having attained numerous postgraduate qualifications, Fabricio's combined passion for implant surgery and comprehensive dental rehabilitation make him a priceless asset for the Coast.

Taking time from his busy Auckland practice, Fabricio graciously travels to Hokitika every 5 weeks to surgically place our dental implants.

Liz Bilsborough - Versatility Queen Extraordinaire

Being with us from the very start, Liz is an integral key to Hoki dental running smoothly. From taking care of patients at reception, to managing behind the scenes admin and everything in between, there's not much Liz doesn't know or can't do.

Drawing on her innate ability to instantly put people at ease, Liz will be a welcome delight when you visit us.

Outside of work, Liz is equally passionate about cooking as she is with caring for her dogs.

Shallan Thornton - Receptionist

Choosing the warmth and sunshine of the West Coast over her hometown of Brisbane, Shallan initially joined our team as temporary cover for maternity leave. So impressed were we with Shallan's bubbly personality (and sense of humour), we asked her to stay on permanently.

In between organising our appointment book and raising two young children, Shallan also runs her own business, Konkret Studio manufacturing stunning homewares.

Angelise Ioanides - Treatment Facilitator and DSD Co-Ordinator

Harnessing her organisational skills, in addition to helping our clinicians deliver dental care, Angelise is also responsible for co-ordinating the planning and provision of care for our Digital Smile Design patients.

Outside of work, Angelise keeps her parents busy with her menagerie of pets which she absolutely adores.

La-Rochelle Grobbelaar - Treatment Facilitator

Having had first-hand experience wearing clear aligners (invisible braces) and assisting an orthodontist, we're absolutely delighted to welcome La-Rochelle to our team.

Jodie Scheele - Infection Control Officer

The most recent addition to our team, Jodie is a recent mover to the Coast with her husband and young daughter. At present, Jodie's primary responsibility is to protect your health and safety through meticulous adherence to our infection control protocols.

In time, Jodie will expand her duties to assisting Didy as well as help out on front desk.

Toby - Head Of Security

Possessing super-sharp senses, Toby is perfectly qualified to be our head of security. Only problem is, if any intruders manage to break in, they'll likely find Toby curled up on his mat fast asleep!

Stevie - Chief Cuddles & Affection Officer

Stevie is an extremely affectionate Cavoodle who just loves pats and cuddles. If you're a little apprehensive about your visit, be sure to drop in on Stevie... she'll happily smooch your troubles away :)
