When you come in for your initial examination, it'll be like nothing you've experienced before.

For starters, you should be prepared for your Platinum Examination to take 45 minutes.

Why so long?

Because we don't subscribe to a "see-a-cavity, fill-a-cavity" style of dentistry.

Rather, we want to empower you with the tools and knowledge to regain and maintain your own dental health, which can ultimately save you time, money and precious dental tissue over the course of your lifetime.

And the key to achieving this is to first gain a clear and comprehensive picture of your current oro-facial health. After all, you can't treat what you can't see.

That's why during your Platinum Examination, we'll harness a number of powerful diagnostic tools and techniques you've probably never experienced before.

Here's what you'll experience during your Platinum Examination...

Platinum Oro-Facial Examination

Phase 1: Full Smile Digitisation

In the comfort and privacy of our VIP Room, our team will deliver the following care...

• A comprehensive assessment of your medical and dental history. The goal here is to gain a thorough understanding of your dental concerns and aspirations;

• The acquisition of a key set of portrait photos and a short "Smile in Motion" video. We practice a special philosophy of facially-driven dentistry and these records are essential for facilitating the digital planning and quality control of any more comprehensive dental care;

• The acquisition of a 2-D full-mouth x-ray of your jaws that empowers us to assess your teeth, jaws and sinuses for the presence of all sorts of diseases that can be easily missed with standard dental x-rays taken inside your mouth;

• A cutting-edge 3D optical scan that creates an extremely accurate 3D digital model of your teeth and gums. With this 3D model, we're able to perform a wide range of powerful procedures that can deliver more durable, more accurate and more conservative dentistry with less time, money and worry;

• High-definition dental x-rays to accurately assess the presence and severity of diseases affecting your teeth and gums.

Phase 2: Clinical Examination

Once we have fully digitised your smile, Angelo or Vicky will perform the following assessments...

• Examination of your facial lymph nodes and peri-oral tissues for cancerous and non-cancerous diseases;

• Examination of your jaw joints and chewing muscles for jaw joint and chewing dysfunction;

• Assessment and examination of your airways for conditions associated with chronic oxygen deprivation;

• Examination of your soft tissues and salivary glands for cancerous and non-cancerous diseases;

• Examination of your teeth for tooth decay, fractures, erosion, abrasion, attrition, nerve damage and discolouration;

• Examination of your gums for gum disease, recession, root fractures and abscesses;

• Assessment of your oral hygiene.

At the completion of your clinical examination, Angelo or Vicky will give you a summary of their findings along with recommended next steps.

Rest assured, you will have complete freedom to ask us any questions and share any thoughts you may have regarding your care. After all, this is your health at stake and we believe you should be the one in the driver's seat regarding what care you ultimately receive.

As you can see, this is no ordinary dental check up. Everything mentioned above is all included in your new Platinum Examination for a fixed fee of only $250.

The first thing you need to know about our Diamond Comprehensive Examination is that it has been meticulously crafted to meet the demands of people looking to completely rejuvenate their oral health - both functionally and aesthetically.

In essence, this is the appropriate first-step if you're looking to straighten your teeth with Invisalign; if you're looking for a dental makeover; or if you're looking to replace one or more teeth with dental implants.

As this is the Rolls Royce of dental assessments, you should be prepared for your Platinum Examination to take 75 minutes.

Here's a very brief overview of what you'll experience during your Diamond Comprehensive Examination...

Phase 2: Comprehensive Clinical Assessment

This is when you'll first meet Angelo or Vicky who will perform the following assessments...

• Recap of your medical and dental history;

• Examination of your facial lymph nodes and peri-oral tissues for cancerous and non-cancerous diseases;

• Examination of your jaw joints and chewing muscles for jaw joint and chewing dysfunction;

• Examination of your soft tissues and salivary glands for cancerous and non-cancerous diseases;

• Examination of your bite for functional and aesthetic compromises;

• Examination of your teeth for tooth decay, fractures, erosion, abrasion, attrition, nerve damage and discolouration;

• Examination of your gums for gum disease, recession, root fractures and abscesses;

• Assessment of your oral hygiene.

Specialised Tests

If during your Platinum Exam it transpires that you have a condition that requires further investigation (e.g. airway constriction), we may need to order some specialised tests. Such tests may include a 3-D "Mini-CAT Scan" of your jaws that empowers us to assess, plan and manage specific diseases or anomalies with unprecedented accuracy, or an at-home sleep-apnoea assessment.

As these specialised tests are not included in our Platinum Exam, should you require further investigation, these specialised tests will attract additional fees.

Dream Smile Test-Drive

As you can appreciate, having collected a massive amount of information, there's no way we can accurately plan more comprehensive treatment on the spot.

So if you're interested in exploring more comprehensive care (e.g. Invisalign, a smile makeover or multiple dental implants), in order to thoroughly and accurately plan your care, we will need to perform a Dream Smile Test-Drive.

Now you may be wondering, what does a Dream Smile Test-Drive involve?

In their own time, Angelo or Vicky will meticulously go through all your records and make note of all the problems and constraints we need to address in your treatment plan.

We'll then share this list along with all your digital records with our team of DSD smile architects and dental specialists in Madrid, Spain.

At first, our smile architects will analyse key landmarks on your teeth and face and they’ll use these landmarks to create the initial smile design that harmonises with your face.

One or more of DSD's specialists will then step in and they’ll formulate and share with us a range of strategies to address your constraints with a view of achieving your ideal smile.

Once Angelo or Vicky have had a chance to review your initial smile design and proposed treatment strategies, they'll personally get on a live Zoom call with one or more specialists needed to plan your treatment and together we’ll brainstorm ways to optimise your plan.

This is a key moment where we harness the power of collective-intelligence to optimise your treatment and this all takes place behind the scenes in our personal time.

Once we’ve all agreed on your ultimate ideal smile design, the team in Madrid will transfer to us a 3D digital file of your ideal smile. From this file, using our 3D printer we’ll fabricate a set of custom clip-on enamel shells of your ideal smile.

At the same time, we’ll put together a visual presentation of your smile’s key constraints along with our proposed strategies to address these constraints.

Once all this is done - which normally takes around 2 weeks to do everything - we’re ready to see you for your Dream Smile Test-Drive.

Now it’s only fair to warn you that most of our patients find this visit very emotional. Seeing your smile’s hidden potential for the first time often brings a heap of suppressed emotions to the surface. While we’re prepared for this, it may make you feel a little awkward and even embarrassed. If that happens, rest assured we’ll treat you with the utmost respect.

This is why we also invite you to bring a friend along to not only share in the fun but to also be there for support if you need it.

Right now, you may be wondering, so what do we actually do during your actual Dream Smile Test Drive?

Firstly, when you come back for your Dream Smile Test Drive, your personal concierge will once again take you straight into our VIP room where she will take a new set of photos and videos.

Now even thought we already took a set of photos and a video at your first appointment, these new photos serve a completely different purpose, which we’ll explain shortly.

Next, you’ll come in to see Angelo or Vicky who will place the clip-on enamel shells of your ideal smile over your teeth. Now there’s no need to worry - there’s absolutely no drilling or injecting involved. We literally clip a set of enamel shells over your natural teeth.

We’ll then escort you back to our VIP room where we’ll take yet more photos and video of your smile, only this time you’ll be wearing your ideal smile enamel shells.

Now please bear with us - we’ll get you to do a bit of modelling and we may even get the leaf blower out! It sounds a bit crazy but it really is a heap of fun:)

Once we’re done, we’ll insert these two sets of before-and-after images into the presentation we prepared earlier before dimming the lights and playing your presentation on the big screen.

This will be the first time you see your ideal smile and it’s when things can get emotional.

Now the reason we took a new set of before photos at the start of this visit is so that when you see your before and after images side by side, the only difference between the two sets of images will be your smile. Your hair will be the same. Your clothes will be the same and your makeup will be the same.

In this way, you’ll see for yourself what a huge impact your new smile makes on your overall appearance.

Of course, after you’ve had a chance to take in your new smile in, you’ll have the opportunity to give feedback on your ideal smile design.

This is a time for complete and open honesty. Don’t hold back. If there’s anything you’re not 100% happy with about your smile, by all means let us know. This is a key moment for you to provide meaningful input on your smile design and is what allows you to be a co-author of your ideal smile.

After that, we’ll then walk you through the rest of your presentation where Angelo or Vicky will explain in plain-English all the constraints we found related to your teeth and bite as well as our proposed strategies to manage these constraints.

Once again, this is an informal conversation where you’re encouraged to ask questions and provide feedback.

Always keep in mind, you are a co-author in your smile’s design and we always welcome and encourage your input.

At then end of this visit, we’ll unclip your enamel shells - don’t worry, they just pop-off - and we’ll give you a digital copy of your presentation and all your before and after photos. You can keep these for yourself or you can share them on your social media. It’s entirely up to you.

But what’s more important is that you review your presentation in your own time and really pay attention to the nuances of your smile design. Again, if there’s anything you’re not 100% happy with or if there’s any modifications you’d like us to make, please share these with us.

Either way, after we’ve gone through this process, we’ll send you a Formal Treatment Plan that details our proposed treatment including time lines, potential constraints and of course our fees.

The sole purpose of this truly extraordinary process is to be completely transparent and give you complete freedom to make a fully-informed decision that you’re 100% happy with.

We can’t stress this enough: Our job is to guide you but the ultimate decision is yours and yours alone to make. You’re in the driver’s seat and we will never pressure you to do anything.

The fee for this entire process, including a 3-D CAT scan, the behind-the-scenes collaborative planning, the design and fabrication of your enamel shells, the actual test-drive, the multi-media presentation and the comprehensive Formal Treatment Plan is $1,450
