Rather than give you some vague generalisations that doesn’t really answer this question, as part of your complimentary virtual smile consult with me, I'll give you an accurate estimate of how long your treatment will take. 

While it's normal experience mild tenderness for a day or two the first time you insert your aligners, the wearing of aligners is comfortable and pain-free.

If your teeth are very crowded, some clinicians may recommend the removal of two or more of your premolar teeth (i.e. the teeth between your canines and molars) in order to reduce the amount of crowding and speed up your treatment. Personally, I am philosophically opposed to this strategy on the basis that it can reduce the volume of your upper airways and in turn reduce oxygen supply to your body.

Having said that, it's not uncommon for me to recommend the extraction of wisdom teeth before commencing Invisalign. Not only does this create space for us to align crowded teeth, it also opens up your airways for improved oxygenation of your body.
